“With a background in fashion and architecture, I approach animation through form, movement, silhouette, and space. This multidisciplinary foundation informs how I build performances—focusing on acting, physical weight, and visual clarity.”
Merline Labissiere is a Miami-based 3D animator and multidisciplinary designer specializing in immersive, story-driven animation. Her work blends movement, spatial design, and cultural narrative—drawing from a foundation in architecture and fashion to create cinematic visuals that explore the body, space, and emotion. She holds a Master’s degree in Animation from the University of the Arts and a BFA in Fashion Design, with early academic training in architecture at Miami Dade College.
With over 22 years of creative experience across animation, 3D visualization, graphic design, architecture, and fashion, Merline brings both technical fluency and artistic intention to every project. Her human-centered animation process emphasizes experimentation, rapid prototyping, and visual storytelling—transforming complex ideas into expressive, motion-based experiences that align creative vision with user and business goals. She is proficient in Maya, After Effects, and Adobe Creative Suite, and thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
Merline gained national recognition as a top-six finalist on Project Runway Season 14, where she won a televised challenge that led to her designs being sold through Heidi Klum Intimates. This experience sharpened her ability to work under pressure, iterate quickly, and communicate narrative through form—skills that now inform her animation and 3D practice.
Beyond her professional work, Merline is dedicated to mentorship and creative education, empowering inner-city youth through design and storytelling. Through public speaking and community initiatives, she advocates for creativity as a tool for identity, purpose, and transformation.
